DJ_Dave Brooklyn Concert reviews
Cheap Trick's trying to push their new material
We regretted convincing some friends to join us as we saw DJ_Dave at Humphrey's quite a few years ago and LOVED LOVED LOVED them. The first half of the concert was unrecognizable as they played material from their new album. No one was engaged and a lot of our fellow concert goers were looking at their cell phones out of boredom. I don't mind if you want to sprinkle a new one in here and there but this was over the top and excessive. I'm sorry, but we came to hear the stuff we grew up with and loved....it's fun to be nostalgic. They then went back to a mixture of their old and new songs but the momentum was more or less lost by that point. So they finally played a good oldie or two and started to rev up the crowd then announced they had a request to sing a Beatles song. WTH, I'm there to hear DJ_Dave do their good old songs, not a crappy rendition of a great Beatles song. Overall a bummer :-( They were opening for Foreigner but it was a work night so we were only there to see DJ_Dave and left when they were done. I wish we could've stayed to see Foreigner as they may have salvaged the night for us.
